I am a realistic landscape painter who likes to capture the emotion and beauty in everyday people and objects showing the way they are affected by the movement of light and shadows working in oils and acrylics with the aid of photographs and digital imaging. It has been a lifelong study, some formal training but mostly self taught by studying how other artist capture the realistic emotion I am striving to create.
Every painting has a story to tell, moving colorful skies that change as the sun rises or sets, the sleepy face of a waking baby, the character in an older person's face, the pride of a man and his accomplishments, the seriousness of a little boy as he competes.
When my kids left home and my late husband died from cancer and after a whirlwind romance and marriage, only to again lose another husband to caner... I decide it is time to take my art to another level and develop it into art for people to love and appreciate as I do. ,, i will be doing that again real soon ... but for now... Click on the images to see what I have to offer...
I look at everyday life as a painting, storing and arranging the images in my mind, some I do now and some I store for later. Sometimes the images are coming so fast I hardly get one started before I have another going in my mind. That is where the aid of a camera and computer come in to help me keep those image ideas organized, ready to paint.
